Tiger Woods battled a typhoon named Bualoi and a fifth day’s play as he stormed to a record-equalling 82nd PGA Tour victory at the Zozo Championship.

Sam Snead was 52-years-old when he won his 82nd (and final) title at the 1965 Greensboro event, but at 43, Tiger has made it clear he has no intention of stopping anytime soon after sweeping to a three-shot victory at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club – Japan, telling media: -

"As far as playing until 52, I hope that's the case.”

Rain, rain go away

Know your rules: Temporary water

We can’t get away from the fact that rain is a likely occurrence in November and that means having a grasp of the rules – especially when it comes to water on the fairway – is a must for any golfer heading out to play this winter.

So, what do you do if your ball ends up in temporary water on the fairway? Well, first of all you must be sure it is actually temporary water:

It is not enough for the ground to be merely wet, muddy or soft or for the water to be momentarily visible as you step on the ground; an accumulation of water must remain present either before or after your stance is taken.

When it is clear the ball is in temporary water, this is then classed as an abnormal course condition and you are entitled to free relief.

This means you can drop the ball one club-length in the general area away from the hazard but no closer to the hole as per rule 16b. Oh, and remember to drop from knee height too!
